Observation of the market and trends in inland waterways transport in Europe
       
Job description: economist, with good knowledge of econometrics and statistics
 
Duties: further development and application of a methodical procedure for assessing the economic situation of transport on inland waterways
 
Responsibilities:
 
1.
collection of the necessary data material
 
2.
data analysis and assessment using various statistical computer programs to identify medium- and long-term trends by considering the plausibility of the data material used
 
3.
drawing up of prognoses for short- and medium-term development, taking exogenous factors into account
 
4.
drafting of economic reports and preliminary documents

    English is essential
A knowledge of Dutch would be an advantage

  Hierarchical superior: Deputy Secretary General
  Project context: three-year project, as part of collaboration among the CCNR Secretariat, the European inland waterway navigation profession and the EU Commission
  Salary: EUR 2 500 - 3 700 net, depending on experience
  Work environment: The CNNR Secretariat has a staff of 18 at present. A 3-person team is currently active in the economic field.
Because the team is small, the work is varied and international contacts are important.
